Deutschland is headed to Tempe

Make sure your lederhosen and dirndls are ready to go and request Uber to pick you up in a Volkswagen, because Germany is coming to Tempe on Oct. 7, 8, & 9th with the 44th annual Four Peaks Oktoberfest.

For just $7, you can unlock the gates to a day full of international craft and domestic beer tents, delicious food trucks and live music. The weather is cooling off in the Valley, and this is just the place to soak it all in. The festival takes place just off Tempe Town Lake and it’s the perfect opportunity to take a bicycle cruise, skateboard, or even a nice stroll with your Lamborfeeties.

All ages are welcome and children under 12 years of age get in free, so don’t let the mantra deter you from what is sure to be a cheerful weekend. This event is designed for all ages (despite the copious amount of alcohol present) and even has carnival rides and various games with reasonable prices for young ones and adults alike to enjoy.

Tempe local and Oktoberfest veteran Adam Horowitz is elated for its return.

“I have attended the last four consecutive years so now it is an annual tradition amongst my group of friends,” Horowitz said. “It draws in an incredible crowd from all ages and walks of life. It’s not uncommon to throw out high-fives to total strangers and engage in German style dancing even if you have no idea what you’re doing.”

There’s expected to be a wide variety of music from world-famous rapper Lil Jon to Phoenix-based western indie band Jared & The Mill, who are expected to put on a show for their hometown.

Phoenix native Devon Mishler has gone the past there years and says it’s one of his favorite events in the Valley.

“Each year I’ve attended has gotten bigger and better, my favorite thing is hitting the food trucks for a bite then finding a nice shady spot to enjoy the live bands and goof around with my friends,” Mishler said. “I look forward to it every year, the atmosphere is so laid back and everybody is so friendly, I think it’s great for the community.”
