All-Star snubbing was the topic of the day for a shocked basketball world on Tuesday as Phoenix Suns Devin Booker was left out of the Western Conference reserves.

However, it didn’t take long for this slight to be resolved.

When Anthony Davis injured his calf, Booker was announced as his replacement in the upcoming, All-Star game.

Leading the Suns offense, alongside future Hall-of-Famer Chris Paul, the two have pushed the team to its fourth place standing.

Fans, teammates and other players were shocked when Booker was left off the All-Star roster again.

Booker found himself in a nearly identical situation last season when he had even better stats than this year and was left off the All-Star team until Damien Lillard was injured.

Currently, Booker is shooting an extremely efficient 50% from the field and averaging 25 points per game, one of the best in the league. Especially while playing on a team that is outperforming expectations in a loaded western conference.

“Devin Booker is the most disrespected player in our league!!! Simple as that.” Lebron James said in a tweet on Tuesday after the reserves were released.

James was not the only household name that brought Booker’s All-Star snubbing to the attention of the general public, with Suns teammate Chris Paul posting a photo of Booker on Instagram captioned “All-Star”.

However, more controversial than Booker not being initially included, has been players like James and L.A. Clipper Paul George, questioning the safety and practicality of holding an All-Star game given the current health situation.

“Just putting money over health right now, pretty much.” Clippers All-Star Kawhi Leonard said earlier this month.

While Suns fans can celebrate the fact that both Paul and Booker are headed to Atlanta on Mar. 7, the question as to whether their safety will be ensured is still in doubt.

As concern grows, the league has said that the game will go on as scheduled.

But, with some of the game’s biggest names creating strong pushback, whether the game will actually unfold as planned will remain to be seen in the final days leading up to the mid-season contest.
