On Saturday night at Casino Arizona Field, Rising clinched the Western Conference title along with home field advantage during the playoffs with their 20th consecutive league win.

Rising striker Solomon Asante struck first with a penalty goal 10 minutes into the game.

Five minutes later, Junior Flemmings scored Rising’s second goal with an assist by Peter-Lee Vassell.

Just moments before halftime, Flemmings scored his second goal of the match, assisted by Solomon Asante.  The goal gives Rising another USL record – most goals in a season at 76.

LA Galaxy II opened up the scoring in the 76’ with Kia Koreniuk getting credit for a goal that A.J. Cochran accidentally knocked in his own net.

Moments later, Rising answered back when Ben Spencer scored the last goal of the game.

The match was delayed in the 88’ due to player safety reasons and ended early, with the scoreboard showing Rising had won their 20th consecutive game 4-1.

According to a tweet from Jake Anderson, 98.7 Arizona Sports, the players were taken off the field after the Galaxy II goalkeeper was struck in the face by an object thrown by a fan.

Rising’s next match will be Saturday, Sept. 21, on the road, against Fresno.

Fresno lost to Las Vegas FC tonight, which allowed Rising to clinch the Western Conference title.
