The Artichoke Grill Returns with a New Look and New Taste after Remodeling
September 18, 2019
The Artichoke Grill, the student-run restaurant of the Culinary Art Program at Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is reopening Wednesday, Sep 11 after being closed for several months for renovation.
The interior of the restaurant including the layout and the design has been remodeled with a modern look along with the menu itself. According to Mark Dow, The Program Director for The Culinary Art Program, the purpose of the remodeling is to keep the restaurant looking fresh with the latest industry design trends.
“So, we give it a fresh new look with a modern appearance, furnishings, and design. The menu also is kept current as well to match the industry trends, so what the students are learning to apply to the real world when they graduate,” Dow said.
The newly renovated space opens every Wednesday-Friday, from 11:30 am-12:45 pm for lunch and 6:00-7:20 pm for dinner throughout the semester. The restaurant also opens not only for the student-faculty but also for the public.
A long-time fan of the faculty cuisine, Janelle Hoffman said that the student-run eatery is the best place to eat in SCC. She always makes time to eat in this place with her friends and co-workers.
“I like the menu because they narrow it down for you and it changes every week so it’s not overwhelming. It’s always good quality food,” said Hoffman.
Every week, the eatery serves roughly anywhere from 20-30 lunches and dinners throughout the week. Visit their website for more information.
