Earlier today, Fox Sports AZ Diamondbacks and Coyotes broadcaster Todd Walsh interviewed former Diamondbacks Manager Bob Melvin about his current situation and memories of the 2007 D-Backs.  As a surprise for Melvin, the pair were joined via ZOOM interview by Tom Everett Scott and Johnathan Schaech, two actors from Melvin’s favorite movie, That Thing You Do (1996).

The actors exchanged stories and talked about baseball in addition to previewing a virtual watch party with other members of the cast including Tom Hanks, who has been recovering along with his wife Rita Wilson, from COVID-19.  The reunion/watch party will take place on YouTube on Friday at 4 p.m. PT as part of the MusiCares COVID Relief Fund and will honor songwriter Adam Schlesinger who was recently claimed by the disease.
