The Arizona Coyotes have lost their third game of the season to the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Coyotes started out strong, outplaying the Golden Knights for the first and most of the second period when the Golden Knights started to turn it around on the team.

The Golden Knights took over the game in the third period, scoring twice to bring the score to 4-2 over the Coyotes.

Play of the Game

Tyler Pitlick’s first goal as a Coyote came in the first period during the penalty kill against the Golden Knights.

Pitlick was able to strip the puck and make a beeline down the ice before looking off Drake Caggiula and shooting on Robin Lehner high glove, short handed.

Pitlick is one of the newcomers to the forward group this season.

Player of the Game

Conor Garland was in on many plays throughout the night that drew the Golden Knights to him. Garland’s forecheck kept the Golden Knights on their heels for much for the game.

He may not have had a point on the score sheet, but he was one of the most effective players on the ice this evening.

Quote of the Game

Rick Tocchet said, “I liked our game for the most part. I think we played a good game … We’ve got to get underneath and we have to compete for 60 if we’re going to play a team like that. We had them on the ropes, two-nothing. They didn’t have anything.”
