Arizona voters passed Prop 207  in November, allowing the possession and use of marijuana for adults 21 and older.

Tax revenues generated from the sales of recreational marijuana will go to the Smart & Safe Arizona Fund and the Justice Reinvestment Fund. 

Individuals can grow up to six marijuana plants in their residence and they must have security measures such as a lock for the greenhouse or enclosed area and plants must be enclosed out of public view, according to the Northeast Valley News article.

Sales for recreational marijuana started Jan. 22 at 73 locations throughout the state but will update as more locations are approved for sales. 

The proposition states, individuals can possess up to an ounce of marijuana.

According to an AZCentral article, some of the dispensaries that were approved by the state to sell recreational marijuana have yet to begin sales to non-medical patients.  Also, a number of the locations that received approval from the Arizona Department of Health Services were not yet ready to open on Friday.
