Opening faceoff between the St. Louis Blues and the Arizona Coyotes Dec. 1.

Sarah Hall, Reporter

The Coyotes and the Blues are in a unique circumstance playing each other six times in a row this season due to COVID-19 in the NHL.

Tonight the Coyotes took their third win in four games against the Blues.

The Blues struck first during the power play making the score 1-0 Blues in the first period.

The Coyotes get on the board with a goal from Conor Garland making it 1-1 in the second period.

The Blues score to make it 2-1 with a shot from David Perron.

The Coyotes tied it up again with a powerplay goal from Christian Dvorak 2-2.

The Blues Ryan O’Reilly got his second of the night making it 3-2 in the third period.

The Coyotes tied it up with .02 seconds left in the game with a shot from Clayton Keller.

Overtime doesn’t solve the game so to the shootout they go.

The Blues David Perron started the shootout and scored against Darcy Kuemper.

Nick Schmaltz shot and missed against Jordan Binnington.

Brayden Schenn missed against Kuemper.

Conor Garland scored against Binnington.

O’Reilly missed against Kuemper.

Dvorak scored against Binnington, lifting the Coyotes to win the game.

Play of the Game

Clayton Keller’s goal with .02 seconds left in the game. The heads up play by Christian Dvorak, with the spin-o-rama pass to Keller really made the play pop.

Player of the Game

Clayton Keller for his amazing play during this series and his goal with .02 seconds left. Keller plays big against the St. Louis Blues each time they play.

Three Howls

My third howl is Darcy Kuemper and his 40 saves that kept the Coyotes in it.

My second howl is Christian Dvorak for his power-play goal and his game-winning shootout goal.

My first howl is Clayton Keller and his skills in this game.
