A public service announcement ad for nevalleynews.org and Scottsdale Community College’s Journalism program:

Do you ever wonder how journalists are trained?

Many enter the industry as interns, gaining hands-on experience.

And no one prepares aspiring reporters for the future better than Scottsdale Community College’s JRN 215 Digital News Production course.

Students in JRN 215 have their work published here, on Northeast Valley News — the ONLY 24/7 student news organization to offer original reporting AND multimedia opportunities to journalism’s next generation.

NEVN’s student reporters have gone on to hold internships at Arizona Sports and the Arizona Republic, and some are even working in the field now. In just two semesters, you can be one of them!

You can join our amazing staff as early as January 2022. Enroll TODAY in JRN 215, and you can start to learn the skill sets needed to thrive in this changing industry.
