The Center for Native and Urban Wildlife based on the campus of Scottsdale Community College is holding a fundraiser plant sale.

The sale is at the greenhouse, located in the northwest corner of campus just south of the film hub.  For easiest access, shoppers should use parking lot I.

Plants can be purchased on Friday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

CNUW has serving SCC and the public for 21 years, teaching and advocating for the conservation of native wildlife, according to the CNUW website.

Throughout the year, the center offers campus bird walks, butterfly counts, and nature walks which are all free and open to the public.

SCC biology faculty member and Executive Director of the center John Weser, described the type of plants for sale.

“We sell native, we sell succulent and some ornamental but all have wildlife value,” Weser said.

Weser said the proceeds from the sale will go back into the center to help reach even more of the community and assist with restoration projects.

Weser indicated that another plant sale would be held in the spring.
