The Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale, Ariz. is once again hosting its highly anticipated annual Christmas extravaganza “Holiday SZN”.
The festivities run through Dec. 30, and feature a wide array of holiday events for young and old alike.
The traditional yet dramatic tree lighting ceremony got the holiday party started last month and live music every Friday through Sunday in Fountain Park, keeps it going throughout the weekend.
Ice skating, a s’more station and visits from Santa create holiday cheer and the seemingly endless decorations immerse everyone in the holiday spirit.
An elf, who wished to remain anonymous because—well… they are an elf, spoke to Northeast Valley News about the preparations for the holiday festival.
“Our team has been ceaselessly dedicated to crafting an event that will truly ignite a sense of magic. Every nook and cranny of our center has been adorned with splendid lights and delightful ornaments, transforming it into a wondrous holiday spectacle,” the elf said. “Furthermore, we have meticulously curated an array of captivating activities bound to elicit joyous smiles from both young and adults alike.”
The elf emphasized the event’s significance in not only bringing holiday cheer, but also bringing the community together.
“The Westgate Christmas extravaganza transcends mere merriment; it serves as a poignant reminder of what truly matters during this festive season,” the elf said.
They went on to say that it revolves around unity, happiness, and giving back to society.
In addition to the elf, Jessica Lee, a mother of two young children spoke to NEVN about how they enjoy the holiday festival.
“Coming to the Westgate Christmas extravaganza has become a tradition for us. The tree lighting ceremony and meeting Santa Claus are highlights we adore. It’s an excellent way to embrace the holiday season,” Lee said. “There is so much here that caters to kids of all ages. We particularly enjoy spending time at Snowflake Lodge and playing in real snow; it creates a magical experience.”
