Extreme conservative justices of the Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump is immune for his actions on Jan. 6 after his violent mob invaded the Capitol in a coup to overturn a fair election.
Trump stood by as brave police officers died.
We cannot afford to repeat this, because repeat it we will—and worse.
The Trump loyalist justices essentially told the American public that Donald Trump could do whatever he wanted while acting in an “official” capacity as president.
What if Trump’s official capacity is to execute—at will—his political opponents, or say, investigative journalists, protestors, atheists or those from diverse religions outside of “Christianity,” LGBTQ+ communities who the extreme right despises —will Trump be immune from murder by our highest court?
And it’s not only the president’s political rivals who could be killed at command— regardless of motivation and without recourse— but would pretty much include anyone.
“Injustice anywhere threatens justice everywhere,” to quote the honorable Martin Luther King.
If Trump is elected—freedom and democracy will be gone and replaced by fear and persecution.
The MAGA faithful and the cowardly and dishonorable members of the Republican Party believe they are leading an ordained “Second American Revolution” and that it will be “bloodless if the left allows it to be”—(yes—this is an actual quote)
We are in a war for our democracy—and the first casualty of war—is the truth
Trump’s henchmen from Project 2025 are promoting a manifesto of dictatorship.
If, as an American, you believe that no one is above the law and if you honor the Constitution then you must protect democracy from a vile dictator.
The only way to accomplish this, regardless of party registration— is to support the Democratic presidential nominee—whether Biden or another sage Democratic leader ready to step up and defend our freedom.
