Spring is just around the corner, and so is the excitement of planting season! If you’re eager to dig into gardening, Seed Mania! 2025 is the perfect way to start. This free, family-friendly event takes place Sunday, March 23, from 1-6 p.m. at Prescott College and offers everything you need to kick-start your garden.
“Seed Mania has been around since 2019,” said Chef Molly Beverly. “After COVID, we merged the event with Prescott College. This really helped build community. Now, we co-sponsor the event along with the local farmers market.”
Attendees can participate in a seed giveaway and exchange, where locally adapted seeds will be available to help gardens thrive. Organizers encourage guests to bring labeled seeds to share with others. Garden experts, local businesses, and sustainability organizations will be on hand to provide guidance, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced gardener.
Workshops will take place every hour starting at 1:30 p.m., covering topics such as seed saving, soil health, composting, growing microgreens, cultivating mushrooms, and caring for fruit trees.

Families can enjoy hands-on activities, including making seed balls, a fun and eco-friendly way to spread native plants through guerrilla gardening. Guided tours of the Prescott College garden will showcase chickens, ducks, and sustainable farming practices.
Throughout the day, guests can enjoy live music, food, and refreshments. The event concludes with a free, seed-themed community meal at 4:30 p.m., followed by speakers discussing the importance of gardening, sustainability, and community engagement. Seating for the meal is limited, so early arrival is recommended.
Whether you’re searching for seeds, gardening tips, or a fun afternoon with family and friends, Seed Mania! 2025 is the place to be.
