Another victory on “Dollar Beer Night”.  Another club record surpassed.  It’s all starting to seem like just another Friday Night at Casino Arizona Field for Head Coach Rick Schantz and his record-setting Phoenix Rising FC.

This week, Phoenix hosted Sacramento Republic FC who come into Friday’s game trailing Rising by only five spots in the USL Western Conference standings.  Unfortunately, for Sacramento, it also translates into a twenty-two point deficit.

The last time the two teams met was much earlier in the season and the result was a 0-0 tie.

There would be no such outcome Friday night, as Sacramento Republic came out aggressively and scored only two minutes into the game.

Rising struck back, with some help from the other team, five minutes later, when a Junior Flemmings’ shot deflected in off a Sacramento defenseman.

Phoenix, Defender, Joe Farrell came up with what proved to be the game-winning goal and also, Rising’s 63rd goal of the season, which set a new franchise record.

Farrell and his defensive teammates, along with some diving saves by Rising, Goalkeeper, Zac Lubin, kept Sacramento out of the net for the second half and secured the win for Phoenix.
