Northeast Valley News, located at Scottsdale Community College, will prepare you to make your sports reporting dream a reality.

NEVN alumni currently hold positions at Arizona Sports, Vox Media, and other outlets. More of our student reporters past and present have held internships at the Arizona Republic and Bally Sports Arizona, while friends of our program include longtime Bally Sports broadcaster TODD WALSH and Arizona Cardinals reporter BOB McMANAMAN.

By enrolling in JRN 215 Digital News Production for the Spring 2022 semester, you will have the chance to:

  • cover live sporting events on-site, including Arizona Coyotes games
  • have your written work published
  • contribute to a sports podcast
  • learn what draws in readers and makes sports writing endure
