Yep, this one’s gonna take a champ.
Arizona must call on the aging priest who was summoned from across the globe in the infamous film, “The Exorcist” in order to cast out whatever keeps Kari Lake coming back again and again.
We need a miracle from on high.
Because Ms. Lake’s demons are legion.
And her new strategy—to slither back to the moderate Republicans she once called “deplorable” and “losers” is a move that falls in line with someone in need of a priest and the confessional.
Apparently Lake hopes that the growing GOP members of the “I am so sick of Kari Lake fan club” will lose their memories by November.
Most moderate GOP voters will not be able to stomach voting for Lake, but if they do, they should expect even more of her lunacy, more conspiracies, endless election fraud claims (unless she wins) and a parade of ghastly policies that would keep a Goldwater or McCain Republican up at night.
Here’s hoping those Republicans will replay the insults made by Ms. Lake about the late Sen. John McCain when during one of her high-pitched rallies she spewed out to the crowd, “We don’t have any McCain Republicans in here, do we—well get the hell out!”
Political analyst and daughter of the late John McCain, Meghan McCain, called Lake’s comments “disgusting and hateful” and “bile trash.”
“My father will always be an icon and the people of Arizona deserve something better than Kari Lake.”
After losing case after case in the lower courts the former local FOX television anchor asked that she finally be heard at state’s highest court after she lost her second trial in Maricopa County Superior Court.
The Arizona Supreme Court denied her appeal last week.
Lake it would seem, has gone as far as she can go with her election denials and lawsuits—but the claims continue.
The bad spirits that have found a home in Ms. Lake just won’t go away.
She’s had her day in court (courts) and she has had it at the expense of Arizona taxpayers.
In a December ruling, Lake’s claim was rejected by the court that— defective printers and other issues with the 2022 election were “intentional misconduct,” and the ruling was upheld February by an appeals court.
In March, the state’s high court declined to hear the appeal of Lake’s Feb. filing but the Arizona Supreme Court sent her claim challenging the signature verification back to the trial court.
Ultimately after a three-day trial, Judge Thompson, who was appointed by former Republican Gov. Jan Brewer, found “no clear and convincing evidence or preponderance of evidence that such misconduct was committed by ‘an officer making or participating in a canvas,” according to the ruling and reported by the Associated Press.
He also found no evidence that alleged misconduct affected the election’s outcome.
“I’m so sick and tired of Kari Lake’s whining,” said longtime registered Republican Nathan Richman of Phoenix, “I actually voted for her, but I will never vote for Lake again.”
When Northeast Valley News asked some Valley voters about their impression of Kari Lake, the responses often came with raised eyebrows or looks of “really?”
Only one woman, who declined to give her name but wanted to be identified as a “Lake supporter” still believes that the former gubernatorial candidate was the victim of an organized election fraud cover up and is certain that the Democrats had something to do with it.
The majority of Valley voters asked by Northeast Valley News about her election fraud claims responded unfavorably to Lake’s relentless tirades.
One young voter, Kelli Howard, who registered to vote for the first time after the Roe v Wade decision, told Northeast Valley News, “I think a lot of people expected Kari Lake to deny losing because she talked about winning so much during her campaign and that if she lost she would never accept it—and she hasn’t.”
