Burlesque is back—performers and comedians invite banter from audience

Wonderlust a newly produced boozy brunch featuring the Valley’s best burlesque and comedy showcased its second Valley show in December.

Local favorites Rebella Risqué (gold medal pole/Burlesque dancer) and Anthony Thornton (award winning improv-comedian) “combines both worlds to make sure no two worlds are ever the same”.

In an interview the couple joked it was either “this” or a baby.

An hour before the show began attendees were invited to sit down and order brunch from a custom menu with drinks inspired by performers in the show.

The show’s producers kicked off the show by praising the “house full of sinners” for choosing to spend “the lord’s day” branching with them as the audience was treated with naughty dance numbers and playful stand-up sets.

Each dancer flaunted their own unique style during their performance and enchanted guests with strip teaseswhile gladly accepting tips.

The comedians appreciated and even invited banter from the audience throughout the show and there were opportunities for the crowd to participate in games in between acts like freestyleand triviacomplete with prizes.

Guests new to burlesque learned about other gigs the crew has coming up and how to get started in either craft if they’re interested.

After the show fans were invited to meet the performers and say “hi” or take a quick cast photo.

One Valley attendee told Northeast Valley News, “I’m excited for the next showSunday Funday is perfect.”
