Luke Air Force Base flyover honors COVID-19 front line workers

In a salute to Arizona healthcare workers, first responders, military workers, and other essential workers, Luke Air Force Base and the Arizona Air National Guard will join together in a community flyover.

When: Friday, May 1 at 3:10 p.m. for 50 minutes

Flight Path: Starting over Buckeye, then continuing over Luke Air Force Base, Litchfield Park, Surprise, Waddell, Goodyear, Tolleson, Phoenix Metro, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Scottsdale, Deer Valley, Glendale, Peoria, Sun City West, and ending over El Mirage.

A total of 15 aircraft will soar in formation over the valley.

Representing Luke Air Force Base will be the 56th Fighter Wing and the 944th Fighter Wings comprised of seven F-35A Lightning IIs and seven F-16 Fighting Falcons.

Representing the Arizona Air National Guard will be the 161st Air Refueling Wing comprised of one KC-135.

Residents are encouraged to watch the flyover from their homes and to maintain social distancing guidelines if away from home. Residents will hear a few minutes of jet noise.
