OPINION
Hey America, and most notably, MAGA—let’s review where we are now under the, “Make America Great Again” administration.
While Americans were asked to choose the country’s top issue in a recent CNN RSSR Opinion Poll, two-to-one chose the economy and Trump’s failure to address it— but voters also found broad and serious concerns over Trump’s use of his executive power.
Trump and company have managed to push for a federal police state in major cities whether citizens or city officials want them there, or not—and for what purpose?
For an imagined Trump vendetta—and the pleasure of brandishing his power.
This is the kind of power flex (in addition to launching investigations of his perceived political enemies from the past) is what “does it” for him— and apparently for all of those who bend the knee for him.
His show of military force in democratic cities and states is designed to quash peaceful dissent, rough up and threaten protestors, harass reporters and flood cities even when their own elected officials have repeatedly asked the Trump administration not to send in the national guard and other federal policing agents.
But there is no reason nor rationale when taking on the Trump impetuous ego—his goal is to set on public display—the consequences if his will is resisted.
Sound familiar?
It should, because every authoritarian despotism is born of force and fear among the masses.
During one recent protest, the life of a woman, Renne Nicole Good a 37-year-old wife and mother was ended in Minneapolis at the hands of an ICE agent—the woman in question, who, like every American, was to be afforded the fundamental right of dissent, peaceful protest and free speech (as laid out in the First Amendment) was instead, cut down by an agent who has now been given absolute “immunity” according to Vice-President J.D. Vance.
Of course, in this case the Trump administration quickly huddled around the “immunity” claim as they describe Good as a “rioter” who was attempting to use her car against officers enforcing immigration laws.
According to CNN, state and local officials have strongly disputed claims the shooting, captured on video, was done in self-defense after some 2,000 federal agents were deployed as part of the latest surge in Trump’s immigration crackdown.
Last week local investigators said that federal officials have blocked them participating in any probe into the dramatic and deadly killing drawing outrage across the nation.
Attempts to investigate the killing of Good by an ICE agent whether on a state or local level have been stalled, out-right rejected or hindered by those who answer to Trump.
The rights of a slain woman, protestor or not, indeed, our own rights, are rapidly being threatened and replaced by fear of a regime that sees its own manic power as superior to the fundamental constitutionality of every single American.
The Trump administration is sending armed federal forces ready for battle into American cities in order to escalate conflict, then points to the subsequent chaos as proof he needs more power.
He is trying to choke the very life of resistance out of American dissent.
And every elected official, from any U.S. state or municipality— and lately, even sovereign nations outside our borders, whose leaders dare to question, condemn and deny Trump’s unbridled power and retaliation are being punished and threatened.
Trump flatly ignores Congress, drops U.S. military forces in Venezuela, threatens an historic American NATO ally by demanding Greenland give in to his demands and become part of the U.S.
Constitutional limits mean nothing to Trump.
Scapegoating vulnerable communities
Immigrants and their defenders get blamed for everything, raided, shot at, and demonized.
What was once America’s compassion and the dream of safety for immigrants seeking refuge from every corner of the world has been replaced by America’s cruelty, its disregard and America’s contempt.
We are now seen as a hateful nation—citizens of our former allies to America refuse to visit now out of fear or resistance to what they see happening in the U.S.
We should be ashamed.
A once so-called “Christian nation” has been replaced by an extremist “Jesus” rhetoric that contains obscene greed, elitism, isolationism, white supremacy—a full court press of racist annihilation against differing cultures and ethnicities.
History will one day be our harsh and condemning judge—and the generations after this time—WILL know what really happened here.
Interfering with fair elections ahead of midterms
Trump and his administration as well as the spineless GOP cowards who continue to bow down to this regime have tried everything to cheat the American people out of fair elections. From gerrymandering to “investigations” into past elections (already deemed legitimate and legal) all to plant doubt and set-up scenarios of justification when the GOP loses in the midterm elections.
Understand one thing—when the midterms show how the majority of the American people feel about the Trump autocracy and theocracy through their vote—those currently in power will do whatever it takes to seize and maintain that power—if that happens, there will be no further question as to whether the U.S. democracy survived.
In a January 2026 Reuters interview Trump even suggested we should cancel the midterm elections.
The question begs, what is he NOT saying?
One can only imagine.
Basic expenses no longer affordable for most Americans
Public opinion on every aspect of Trump’s first year back in the White House is negative.
The recent new CNN poll conducted by SSRS Opinion Panel, shows a majority of Americans saying Trump is focused on the wrong priorities and doing little to address rising costs and affordable living.
Trump recently declared the economy is “great”—another incompetent rant by Trump.
Amid negative polling on the economy, Trump called the results from Americans about the lack of affordability for fundamental living expenses such as food and utilities, downsized paychecks, being uninsured and the current unemployment numbers, a “con job” instigated by Democrats.
While most Americans still believe that Trump’s second term has and will continue to significantly change the country—shifting optimistically for a moment—an increased number of Americans now say they’re expecting the changes he makes to eventually fade.
God willing.
No, not God willing—if we’re willing.
