Electronic dance music fans gathered in Phoenix Friday and Saturday for M3F Fest—the annual two-day festival that donates 100% of its proceeds to charity, while bringing the city “good vibes” and a good cause.
This year proved to be a success based on the turnout and the crowd’s enthusiasm for what is considered one of the strongest DJ lineups in the festival’s history causing the venue to nearly run out of general admissions wristbands on Saturday.
One festival attendee told Northeast Valley News he “enjoys random beats with heavy bass, nothing mainstream.”
The M3F Festival was able to deliver with headliners Peggy Gou, who played on Friday and Mau P, who closed out the show Saturday night.
Fans were also excited with the supporting artists, including highly acclaimed British house musician Chris Lorenzo and returning EDM and pop duo Neil Frances, who performed previously at the 2023 M3F Festival.
Dancing and grooving to the sound of the bass was the focal point of the festival experience.
Thxbby and Peggy Gou opened up their sets by asking the audience if they were “Having fun” ready to dance?”
In each set, DJ’s would build anticipation before dropping the bass, and once the beat hit, festivalgoers took the cue and started moving in synchronicity, jumping and swaying together.
There was camaraderie among the crowd.
The only distraction was a lot of dust and debris, blowing around, irritating some people’s allergies since the venue was set outdoors at Steele Indian Park.
Despite that, audiences were in awe of the atmosphere, set design, music, and overall experience.
Many attendees remain loyal fans of the festival and make it a priority each year.
Organizers say the festival continues to grow, and this year proved even stronger.
