Twenty years after the original Disney Channel aired Hannah Montana, Hannah has returned with a special 20th anniversary documentary streaming now on Disney+.
Northeast Valley News decided to break the “hannahversary” down.
The hour-long documentary showcases performances of popular Hannah Montana hits like “Best of Both Worlds”, “This is the Life”, and of course, one of the ultimate fan favorites, technically sung by Miley (Stuart), “The Climb.”
Hosted by Alex Cooper of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, asks most of the questions fans have been dying to know.
Miley talks about Disney boyfriends, the experience of being a Disney icon during the iconic Disney era, family dynamic, and Hannah Montana’s legendary closet.
Although the original cast members did not make any special appearances, other than Miley herself and her dad Bill Ray Cyrus who played Robby Ray Stuart in the show – there were many appearances including Tish Cyrus (Miley’s mom), Selena Gomez, and Chappel Roan.
The documentary was staged at the original set of Hannah Montana season one to season three.
The set was down to the tee, with original pieces like the leg stand, the classic green couch, the jukebox and more.
Audiences also got a look at Hannah’s closet and some of her infamous clothing pieces she wore during the show’s run and the Hannah Montana movie.
Featured pieces include, but are not limited to, the prominent sequin dress from the movie, the pink Hannah robe from the pilot, and her blue skirt from the hoedown throwdown scene in the movie.
Not only did audiences get to see past looks, but current Hannah outfits Miley showcased during the anniversary. Miley rocked an all denim fit, capris and of course, a scarf—threads that scream Hannah Montana.
While other pieces highlighted include her black fur vest, and a long purple sequin dress.
There are clips of the original auditions of then 11-year-old Miley, auditions of Miley and Billy Ray and even old clips from the show itself.
The entire documentary dropped on March 24th and was filled with nostalgia.
*Spoiler alert, fans got to find out who Miley would REALLY choose between Jake and Jesse…
