Brenna Goth who studied journalism at SCC, was honored as a 2014 Pulitzer Prize finalist in Breaking News Stories.

She and five other Arizona Republic reporters covered the Prescott Yarnell Hill fires.

The committee honored the team, “For its compelling coverage of a fast-moving wildfire that claimed the lives of 19 firefighters and destroyed more that a hundred homes, using an array of journalistic tools to tell the story.”

Brenna attended SCC four years ago and participated in a photojournalism trip to Peru. Her mother, Ramona Goth, is SCC’s English Department chair.

We hope to provide an interview with Brenna soon.
